When do W-2's come out?

The Form W-2 is an IRS tax form that is given to you when you are an employee of a company that highlights the wages you have earned and taxes withheld from the previous year. W-2 forms are important because it shows how much you have earned through wages, your taxes withheld from you, and how much of which was sent to your social security. Employers are required to file them out for you, and to hand them to you (or make them electronically accessible) by January 31st of every year. That is the last day they can hand you your W-2. Once you have it, it is your responsibility to use it to file your taxes properly before the April 15th deadline.
